Our Success Stories
Ainsley Stapleton — Benzonia, MI
Ainsley Stapleton is working toward homeownership in Benzonia with the support of Home Sweet Home and her employers. After successfully bidding on a three-bedroom home through the Benzie County Land Bank, extensive mold remediation was completed by licensed professionals and independently inspected at the recommendation of HSH.
Through dedication and hard work, Ainsley is purchasing the home for tens of thousands less than market value. When renovations are complete, she plans to raise her two-year-old son in a safe, stable home — a goal made possible through community support and clear pathways to ownership.

Helping Families Become Homeowners — Northern Michigan
Multiple Households Supported
Home Sweet Home has already helped multiple households in Northern Michigan move from housing insecurity to homeownership, including individuals and families from diverse backgrounds — a veteran, a person with a disability who works from home, and working families previously priced out of the market.
Through budgeting education, credit repair guidance, and homeownership preparation, participants worked diligently—some for more than a year—to become mortgage-ready and secure stable housing. With a total investment of under $34,000, Home Sweet Home helped prevent years of housing insecurity for these families, demonstrating that targeted support and community-based solutions can create lasting impact. This work is made possible through the generosity of donors and grant partners, including the GTR Community Foundation – Campbell Fund, whose support helped turn preparation into opportunity.
